Planning Your Vacation: Unexpected Surprises... (Part 5)

Yes, you planned your vacation to a T, but nothing is perfect, and something just didn’t work out, don’t be unprepared! This final post of our series, so let’s find out why your vacation is never perfect, and what you can do to fix it.

-Your Fastpass Was Cancelled Due to a Ride Shutdown

Yes, this has happened before and it’s unfortunate. But, if this does happen, Disney can do a few things to make sure that you do have a nice trip. Make sure to ask a Cast Member after the cancellation. One of the things that they most likely will do is give you another Fastpass, one that you can use on any ride or attraction. So, if you lost a 2nd tier pass then you can use this new one to get on a tier 1 pass! Make sure to use it wisely, and don’t let that ruin your vacation :-).

-You Didn’t Make a Fastpass in Time

Yes, getting to a Fastpass is going to cause a little bit of stress in your vacation, but make sure that none of your dining reservations or other Fastpassea are in the way, and you should be good to make these passes. But, if you get in a line or some other sort of blockage to get to your pass, you might miss it. Now, if you are a few minutes late to the posted time, then you should be able to get in because of the 15 grace window. Basically, Disney knows that there may be some sort of conflict. But, if you miss the window by a TON, maybe go to your other passes if you haven’t already, and just try to get another pass for that attraction you missed. Or, maybe talk to a Cast Member and they can help you out!

-You Missed a Dining Reservation

This is honestly the worst situation, you missed getting to a dining experience that you have been looking forward to for a while, and you just missed it. If you were only a few minutes late, maybe ask a Cast Member if your table is still available and maybe they can help you. If it is much later, explain to a Cast Member the reasons why you were late, and maybe they can help you. But the only problem is that you will have to pay a fee for missing the reservation, so make sure you plan accordingly to make sure you make it.

Overall, you just have to know that Cast Members are going to be your best friends. They are always willing to help, and they are going to be able to answer any questions you have. Something may happen, and something may go wrong, but just know that maybe you can do something that makes your vacation better!
