Welcome to Toy Story Land! Today we are going to take a little trip to this Pixar themed area in Hollywood Studios. This land was announced at the D23 Expo in 2015 and was completed on June 30, 2018. The theme surrounds the famous Toy Story movie saga that originally released November 22, 1995. I wanted to tell you all about it, and what I think!
This land is so colorful, and full of life and excitement! This place looks amazing, and Disney really outdid itself. I loved looking at all the toys and other cool things that they added to the land so we can feel like we are a toy. So, in this new area, there are 3 rides, and currently 1 counter service restaurant, but there is currently a table service restaurant that is still in the works.
So, the first attraction we will be talking about today is the roller coaster, and most popular attraction of the land, Slinky Dog Dash. This family coaster is the most sought after Fastpass, so if you really want to ride this ride, make sure to grab your Fastpass 60 days in advance, if you’re staying at a Disney owned resort, but if you are staying at an outside resort, you only have 30 days to get this Fastpass. Chances are, you might grab one, but you most likely not get one in time. If you don’t get the pass and you want to ride, you might have to wait in lines that max up to 3 hours. No one was kidding when they say that this is their favorite!
The next attraction I’m going to tell you about, is Toy Story Mania. Now, this ride was originally located at the pixar themed area, Pixar Place, but when Toy Story Land was being built, this ride received a new entrance in the land, but the attraction still remains just about the same. The attraction takes you on an adventure with all your favorite Toy Story characters and you must use the shooter on the vehicle to earn points and beat the rest of your family! I love this ride and enjoy when the vehicle whips you around.
The final attraction located in this area is Alien Swirling Saucers. You get to sit in a rocket behind an alien from the films, and you switch tracks, and get whipped around. I really liked this ride, but had to wait around an hour to be able to ride the attraction, and didn’t really think it was worth that long of the wait.
This land is a favorite of mine, and I love it! This land is a highlight of Hollywood Studios.
