Super Cool Magic Kingdom Facts

There are so many facts that I thought were cool, and you would want to know. Magic Kingdom is really just full of fun surprises that you’ll want to look out for with your family.

Liberty Bell Twin: Disney World is more committed to getting the best for their guests than you think! There is a bell that looks very similar to the Liberty Bell at Liberty Square, and that’s because they are! The bell at LS is actually created with the same mold that the OG bell was. That seriously makes

Look at the Ground: If you look down when you’re walking around the Magic Kingdom, you may notice some small designs based on which land you’re in. In Fantasyland, you may notice hoofprints from horses that have traveled through. If you go to the Dumbo ride in the Circus area, you might see some peanuts in the ground, along with prints from animals that have trampled through.

No Bathroom?: Again with the Disney authenticity, Liberty Square has no bathrooms, because back in the Colonial times, there wasn’t any indoor plumbing. If you are in desperate need of a restroom, heading to the Tangled themed one in Fantasyland might be a good option.

Clean Paint: This one sounds weird, but it actually is something that is super cool, and I want to see someday. If you are super lucky, you may find one of the custodial staff painting with water on the ground. They are so cool, and it’s a very small chance that you will see them. But, be sure to look around for a small crowd of people.

No Stones: Cinderella Castle looks like it’s made completely of stones and bricks, but not one is actually part of the structure! It is completely made from fiberglass, but no brick.

Only That Tall?: Did you know that Cinderella Castle is only 198 feet tall? If you notice, the bricks on the castle base get smaller as they go up. If the castle, or any structure for that matter, was over 199 feet tall, then they would have to have flashing lights on the top. This is due to Aviation Laws, so why ruin the magic with those red lights?

Perfect for Photos: Did you know that the ground invites guests to take pictures? The Imagineers, people who designed and created the parks, attractions, Resorts, and everything in between, designed this color to make your pictures perfect. Most of the ground in MK is this shade, so your pics will be the best!

The Wedding Ring: If you are in the queue for Haunted Mansion, ask a Cast Member or look on the ground near trash cans, and you will see an actual wedding ring embedded in the cement. This was put there because of a previous “ring” caused by a tapstile, and all of the HM fans did not want that taken away, because they thought that it was the Bride’s ring in the attraction. But Disney listened, and actually put a wedding ring in the cement. Keep your eye out for that!

The Hub: This isn’t really a fun fact, but it is helpful. Right where the castle is, there are bridges and pathways to the other lands. Every land is connected to this hub, except for Frontierland. If you ever need to get somewhere, this will help you.

Look at the Windows: When you’re walking down Main Street, look at the windows over the shops. There are references to some of the Imagineers that helped make the park happen, and Walt himself also has a few windows.

The Second Floor: Did you know that the park itself is actually the second floor? There is a series of tunnels all under MK that are used for trash, Cast Member costuming, and getting from one land to the other. All the dirt and such that was used to clear this space was used to create the Seven Seas Lagoon!

The Secret Suite: This is definitely something on every true MK fan’s bucket list, is to say at the Cinderella Suite. This suite is located in the Castle, and is only able to be stayed in if you will sweepstakes or a prize from a contest that is hosted by Disney. But, you can see it if you take one of the backstage tours.

Sweet Smell: When you're walking down Main Street, do you ever just think, "Wow, that smell is amazing, I want to get some of whatever that it," you are not alone! Disney uses scents around Main Street to get you to buy their pastries at the Confectionary. If you smell cookies and vanilla, that's what their doing.
