Things To Do at Disney World When Not at a Park

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

I was thinking about all of the things that you could do when you don't want to spend a ton of money with a ticket to the parks. There are plenty of things to do when you aren't at the parks, including Mini Golf, shopping, and maybe even take a tour of resorts!

Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation

1: Swim at the Resort Pool: Every resort at Disney World has at least 1 pool, and they can be amazing! Yacht and Beach Club has been said to be one of the best pools, as it includes a water slide right next to Crescent Lake. Make sure that if you are planning a day off, that the pool(s) are not under refurb.

Dining, Recreation, And More of Disney Springs

2: Tour Disney Springs: Disney Springs is the shopping district, like CityWalk in Universal and Downtown Disney in Disneyland. There are a ton of places there, including World of Disney, Ghirardelli Chocolate, the Lego Store, and a WHOLE TON MORE! There are also a ton of places to eat, and so you could make a reservation to eat there.

Skyliner Over Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

3: Tour a Resort: You are able to, if you want, take transportation from your resort and go to a park. From that park, you can take another bus, monorail, boat, or Skyliner to go to another resort. You are not allowed to swim in another resort's pool, but you can make a reservation and eat at another resort.

Jogging Map Around Crescent Lake Near Disney's Swan and Dolphin

4: Use the Resort's Amenities!: Disney makes sure that there is plenty to do at the resort. There are jogging/walking paths, fishing on the Monorail resorts, and more! Check out the resort amenities and recreation on Disney's website.

Mini Golf at Winter Summerland Course

5: Mini or Regular Golf: Many people wouldn't know this, but Disney has a golf and mini-golf course! Fantasia mini-golf is near the Swan and Dolphin, so check that and the BoardWalk while you are there!

Here are some things that you can do while taking a day off, because who wouldn't want to tour the resorts?! Or do some golf? There are plenty of things to explore at Disney!
