Disney’s Swan and Dolphin, a Resort I may have mentioned a couple of times, lol, has a new addition coming in Summer of 2021. This resort is said to be the 3rd largest resort in Disney, once the construction is finished. I want to tell you everything that Disney has released about this new tower. I’m trying to get the most information I can, from different sources. Tell me if I miss something important, or have incorrect information.
Disney’s Swan and Dolphin is a Marriott owned resort, and they are under the process of building a new tower, renamed from the Cove to the Swan Reserve, announced in 2018. This 14 story resort will have 349 rooms and is 14 stories tall. From artist renderings, and concept art, the tower doesn’t seem to have the same feel and look as the rest of the resort. Maybe it won’t matter as much, seeing how it will be in between the resorts, and you won’t exactly be able to access as easily as you are from the Swan to the Dolphin. This new tower will be across the street from the other 2 resorts. When you take the bus from the Swan to Magic Kingdom, and you go to stop at the Dolphin to pick up other guests, look out the left window to see some of the construction.
This resort will have a 2,200 sq feet large convention hall, and the Swan and Dolphin have 333,000 sq feet of convention space. That gives conventions over 335,200 sq feet of conventional space. This resort seems to have been constructed mainly with a large amount of convention space in mind. The This new resort will be more modern and stylish.
The resort is said to have, according to Disney Food Blog, “signature restaurant and bar, lobby lounge, grab-and-go market, health club, and pool, featuring an elevated deck and fire pit.” all on site. Also, “Guests who stay here will have access to the other amenities at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, including 18 restaurants and lounges, four signature restaurants, Mandara Spa, five pools, and more.” This may also mean that SR will have access to the Disney Friendship dock, walkways to the Boardwalk, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. I’m just curious to see how the guests from S&D will get to SR and the other way around.
As I find out more, I will keep you posted on any new developments in the construction of this tower.
