What is Halloween in Disney World in 2020?

Since 2020 has been so… how do I say this… rough, Disney World had to cancel it’s 2020 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. But they have given guests a few compromises to then they can still get the special Halloween that they went for.

-All The Decorations: Disney wasn’t just about to not put up their amazing decorations all around Magic Kingdom! From what I’ve seen, thanks to Disney Food Blog and WDWNT, the whole Kingdom is decked out in pumpkins, and other cool decorations. I’m not too sure about other parks, but I know that MK is all decorated for the holiday.

-Character Cavalcades: Since Disney is not doing any character meet-n-greets due to COVID, they are using floats from parades and other things to let the characters ride through and say hi to guests. But, Disney has brought out some new cavalcades. One has Jack Skellington, Sally, and Oogie Boogie, another one has the Villains, and others will have the characters in their Halloween costumes. It’s super cool to see, and get you into the Spooky spirit!

-Tons New Treats: Since Disney World is known for having incredible treats and snacks, Halloween is no exception to what they will whip up! Unfortunately, I live in Ohio and can’t visit the parks all the time, but there are a ton of new treats and snacks that you can try. Tell me what your favorite was, or the one you really want to try.

-More Haunted Mansion Merch: Haunted Mansion is a signature attraction in Magic Kingdom, and October is the month to get Halloween merchandise based on this attraction. One of the most popular items is the Madame Leota Sipper, located at Sleepy Hollow, in Liberty Square. This item has caused long lines, and sell outs because of how much people want this product! There are so many other things that you can get based on this attraction, from ears, masks, and shirts, to Crocs and ornaments.

-Other Halloween Merch: Disney has really been shelling out all of the Halloween merchandise, all found on shopDisney. They have some new ear headbands, Magicbands, shirts, sweatshirts, masks, pins, and soooo much more! Definitely check shopDisney for all the items.

-Everyone Can Wear Costumes: Since Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party isn’t happening (post about that coming soon!), Disney is letting not only kids, but adults wear full costumes this year! Normally, because characters are around, and Disney didn’t want little kids to think that someone was Cinderella, but it was just a guest in a costume. You are now allowed to wear costumes, but you cannot start acting like a character and sign autographs, or you will be removed from the park with no refund.

-Halloween Character Dining: Because Disney is still in the midst of reopening, and they want to keep all characters and Cast Members safe. But, there are a few Disney character dining opportunities that you can get, and at Hollywood Studios, you can meet Minnie, Mickey, Goody, and Pluto! At Hollywood & Vine, Minnie is hosting her Minnie’s Halloween Dine, where you can meet all these characters

-Dapper Dans are Back: Yes, the signature Disney performers are back on Main Street, and they are ready for you! The Dapper Dans, performing as the Cadaver Dans, started performing on September 20th.
